Unveiled: Retail Insider Top 100 Movers & Shakers in Multichannel Retail

London: October 23 – Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, has been named Number One in the latest list of Movers & Shakers in the UK’s retail sector.

The announcement along with the acknowledgement that she is ‘one to watch’ came at today’s annual unveiling of the Retail Insider Top 100 Movers & Shakers in Multichannel Retail.

The eagerly anticipated report, created by Retail Insider and sponsored by the forward thinking multi-channel enabler K3 Retail, has fast become a key event in the UK’s retail calendar. A celebration of the people who work at the cutting-edge of multichannel retail, it features names from across the industry.

As Glynn Davis of Retail Insider acknowledges: “Movers & Shakers includes some lesser known names from smaller retailers as well as investors and non-executive directors because they are all vitally important to ensuring multi-channel retail continues to evolve, innovate and disrupts set ways of doing things.”

He adds: “Two of this year’s top ten, Simon Mottram and Anthony Fletcher, come from smaller companies – Rapha and Graze respectively – who demonstrate that size doesn’t matter when it comes to quality and innovation in the multi-channel arena.”

Joining Angela Ahrendts in the exciting category of top 35 ‘ones to watch’ are Federico Marchetti of Yoox/Net -A-Porter, Nick Beighton of ASOS, Rowan Gormley of Majestic Wine, Siobhan Fitzpatrick of Maplin, Robin Phillips of Boots and Chris Griffin of Anatwine.

Tony Bryant, Business Development Director at K3 Retail, says: “Retail brands are not defined by the buildings they occupy, or even the logo they stamp on their goods. Brands are the embodiment of the people who create them and drive them forward. Nowhere is this more evident, or more important, than in the world of multichannel.

“Multichannel is at the heart of the post-downturn retail renaissance and is truly what the 21st shopper expects and desires. The Retail Insider Top 100 Movers & Shakers in Multichannel Retail quite rightly celebrates the people who are developing today’s most exciting multi-channel strategies and creating a forward momentum that is benefiting the whole of the retail industry.”
